But Of course I wear colour, take a look at my shoes.
Black and white is my absolute favourite combination in outfits as is that of many others. I don’t think that’s because it’s a safe bet but because it’s sharper and a total visual treat. I often find myself dressing in an all black or an all white ensemble even if it’s weather inappropriate.
So when we decided to do this shoot on a pretty hot summer morning, that’s 1 ‘o’ clock for me, even my dog looks at me with an eyebrow raised. “A summer story in all black, hell I don’t even wear clothes but I know that’s retarded”, said my dog. I ate some of the chicken meant for him that day.
I know black isn’t exactly the best suited for a summer story but then again, in Bangalore city it isn’t that bad. Partly so because of no humidity and partly because of a pleasanter and much cooler summer than other cities *insert the weather victory dance here, all bangaloreans know it*
Maybe it’s this kind of summer that makes me love summers in general, friends from other cities seem to hate it’s guts. They cringe at the thought of stepping outdoors in the harsh sun or getting a shade darker. They talk of the summer like it’s a demon waiting to eat up their faces. I, on the other hand like sticking my tongue out at this demon and taking in some of it’s fire, getting a few shades darker and getting meself a good dose of Vitamin D.
This shoot was quite impromptu, like most of our shoots and we walked around my neighborhood looking for a few spots. The funny thing is, I don’t really know my neighborhood much. Ever since we moved here, I’ve been getting on my bike and riding away to another place everyday. We found a good old unused gate to shoot at and then walked down a few gallis and found a nice truck to shoot in. The kids from the area came in all excited to see what we were doing and gladly struck a little pose for me too.
